Frothing Rant

my first brush with performance scrutiny went rather well. i'll find out for sure tomorrow. when there is documentation of the event. maybe it's late in the week, but the flapping and flopping shoes are getting louder. it's as if they know and are exaggerating their stride or step on purpose. i still can't get connected at home. one of my friends called last night to report that her basement is over run with moth-flies. scary. now she has to move EVERYTHING out. display cases and all. my dreams this morning were of unfinished high school reports again. i thought for sure they would be bug related. i feel somewhat uninspired this morning, so i'll compose something more pithy later.

so this mourning i wake up and drag myself to the computer room expecting to check mail and play on my website. only the server is gone. not locked up/frozen/whatever, but physically gone. apparently it had to go back to my roomate's place of employment so that an insurance adjuster, that is bean counter, could include it in his figures for when they got their lightning strike. bar keep! lightning strikes for everyone! "to all my friends!" to quote chinaski from barfly. or was that leon spinks? i think it depends on which scene you're watching. SV, like i said last night, you need another cat or something. depending on me to drive an hour one way to sit and watch the telly is not terribly realistic. especially since i'll be working o.t. every night this week. dolly and i need the money. and i only throw stuffed and chocolate bunnies against solid objects. mojo, i don't think they're hiring but i would put in an app anyway because it takes them forever to get back to people. i think it took a month and a half before they called me. we do need another tech person tho, since we recently lost one. and i wouldn't mind having you around to talk to again. trust me, they don't "get me" here. there are a couple that do, but the majority haven't a clue. that's ok i suppose as i've learned not to expect them to.

BOOOOOOOOOOORING!

Well, I waited and waited and waited for poor Tony to show up last night. He paged, but I couldn't call back. So, when I finally did, he was gone. Simple, right??? He is coming down here....

Except he didn't....

He and Maureen ( I think) went out on some sort of romp. I don't quite remember the specifics, but it involved picking up little fuzzy baby bunnies and throwing them as hard as possible against solid surfaces. Strangely, this did not appeal to me in the slightest. Oh well....

Yes, I have BBC in America on the Telly... AWESOME! I just wish they did not play so much house and home stuff during the day. Heck, I can watch that on HGTV. Although I will say one thing. The Brits have some seriously strange laws over there. They can blow up their entire garage or backyard, but have to practically get permission from the Queen to NAIL into a load bearing wall. Sheesh.

Oh well. Done working for tonight. Home I go. It seeems that no matter what happens, no matter how hard I try, wherever I go, there I am.

Sigh....

i'm a silly snarfy monkey. i enter all these records into the computer and they record what i have already done - from months ago they came. ping! the server is still up at home. the house has probably burned down, but the server will still be there when i get home. i'm glad i wore clean underware today. i love this show. my back is out to kill me today. i should have walked everywhere on my mini-vacation. i think i'll bbq some tofu when i get home. on a stick, over the flames of our former home. there go the flip-floppy moo-moos past my cube. flip flop, fwap, fwap. some kind of code - mocking me no doubt.

PG, the other girl of course. this sucks. i call in several favors from the universe to finally get connected at home again and it's time to make ready for work. the server will probably overheat before i get out of the driveway, never to beep or blink at me again. sigh. messenger is even working. jim rose circus sideshow is tonight at the vogue. might be fun if not too $$. missed my dr's appt on friday. they care so much that they never called. cranky be-otches at the library last night. no one wanted to wait for their turn on a computer. i figure if you're getting free net access you're gonna wait. almost went off on one of them. wanted to tell her that her dissatisfaction with her station in life, and dying dreams were no reason to go off on the innocent library clerk. i could have changed her life. oh well 20/60 hindsight.

ok, so SV is out of the hospital. saints preserve us. he's already started calling and trying to get me down to bargersville. granted he has BBC america. that is tempting. i'm at the library as our server let me on yesterday for about a half an hour and then promptly overheated. i was just about to get a recipe for garlic wine! oh well, travis said it went to a better place. mojo, FC is will from comm comm. was a pseudo supervisor. now he's a windows and acrobat consultant at pearson in my dept. we take turns shocking the poor girl in charge. dolly's prison penpal is out and about. he signed the kastle's guest book the other day. not sure from where tho. he said he's originally from indy, so he could be here today - in the library, watching us.... there's a towlhead behind me. haven't noticed him looking at airline schedules or downloading pics of the RCA dome yet. i need to find a good monster movie book here today so i can finish work on my fire hazard, er, lampshade. i spent $1.58 at lowe's last night. got 4 paper shades and a light switch cover. no idle hands here. i'm also looking for a book on braille for the sighted. not easy to find in here. i know where to get it online, but would rather borrow it first. watched the devil's backbone last night. spanish with subs. not bad. better than "the others." saw audition the night before. it failed to creep me out. i'm thinking my creep out neuro-receptors may be reaching burn out. lots o' people waiting on puters, so i should go soon. catch you freaks on the morrow.
