Decided that it was time for a change. New health and all. So I got a new haircut. I really like it. Let me know what you think....

I have the Virgin Suicides on tape. What an awesome movie.

I also have Star Wars Episode 2 (Attack of the Clones) on tape. Anyone interested in watching this? WARNING: I only have a 13 inch television. Makes for headaches, but hey; it was cheap.

Out of the horsepital. Yay!

I learned much. Very much. Quite a bit, in fact....

  • Bring a salt and pepper shaker. The disposable plastic ones that they sell at Kroger are ideal. Hospital food is bland as hell, and the one package of salt included with each meal is not remotely enough.
  • You are the boss. Don't be afraid to take charge of the hospital staff. But don't be afraid to listen and take suggestions, either. This is a fine line
  • Ask to see your chart. Daily.
  • Keep track of what medicines you are taking, and their exact dosages. Mistakes are made. Often. Nurses and Doctors also have the nasty habit of changing dosages or medications without consulting you. They have no right to do this.
  • Don't room with senior citizens. They complain incessantly, they want the temperature at 86 degrees, and some want to die, taking as many with them as possible into their black hole of despair.
  • And most importantly, have a good group of friends. One that calls you often, cleans up your home while you are away, and brings you food wuth actual taste and seasoning. :-)
Thus endeth the lesson.

I am back to work. I have no phone at home right now. People can either mail me, or send a message to my alphanumeric pager.

saturday was particularly fun. saw a genuine crack ho in her native habitat ie. 38th and meridian. when i stopped at the light she was having a very enthusiastic conversation with someone who wasn't there. then she casually pulled her top down to her waist. would have been ok if they were pretty. however they were pendulous and not at all perky. i've seen better in a national geographic. was thinking to myself that the homes on the meridian street tour had better be beautimous to counteract that thing i couldn't "un-see." and they were, mostly. some of the houses and gardens were gorgeous. others were scary. painted woodwork. ick! later we strolled mass ave and ate at bazbeaux. garlic cheesy pesto bread.. .mmmm... taunted the pigeons and birds that were begging for crumbs. then off to the phoenix theater to be told that batboy the musical was sold out. sat sulking on the bench out front when someone from inside poked their head out and asked if we were there for the show. we said no, sold out. he invited us in and we were taken to some stools at the back of the theater. that seemed good enough, then he showed up again, and this time asked that we move to the front row! how does THAT work? happy day! the show was great. funny, witty, and all around entertaining. it was quite the full day. started at 12ish and ended at 11. mowed the lawn on sunday and did laundry. pretty lame as compared to the day before, but was nice so i could recover from all the walking. still no net at home.
