welcome back jen! stopping smoking eh? i don't envy you, for that at least. everyone knows the most effective place to put the patch in over one's mouth. i wish you the very best of luck, tho i wouldn't worry about being one upped by denise. i went on a small spending spree today. got my 1st check yesterday and couldn't help it. i bought bird with the crystal plumage and the stendal syndrome. both italian. saw mark of the devil 5 last night. more of the blind dead series. i don't know what the attraction is, but suspect it's because it's one of the few things that can still creep me out. the whole time i'm typing this i'm being bombarded with email from amazon telling me listings have expired. must investigate..... this morning i had my first job related dream. does this mean i've been indoctrinated through training? i was working in this bookstore and trying to keep this lady from having a meltdown over some specific version of a children's book. apparently someone told her we had it and the guy at the register just couldn't find it. at one point she even said she probably came to the wrong store. so, i'm running all over the children's section and trying to entertain her with a stuffed animal/puppet. sheesh. at least this dream didn't leave me with a headache like the other day. i had another numbers dream. this time i had to add and multiply across a grid and it was all based on multiples/factors/powers of 12. what is it with the pattern of 12s, 18s, and 20s in these dreams? like i said in a previous post, i've added a comments function. please lend me some ideas on the subject! ok, added a comments function to the blog. hope it works for you. i tested it, but your results could vary. today was sloth day at work. we had a pitch-in and listened to calls. that was it! all week we were crammed to bursting with knowledge and product information. then today we kinda coasted. beautiful! my casserole was a hit. no one knew about the soylent green and i'm not tellin' oops! i'm going to finally watch one of the movies i got at the flea market last week. kill the lights, light the candles and incense.. it's movie time! isn't this fun? everything is jumbled as far as order goes. oh well. just wanted to get everything copied over. think of it as a puzzle. Posted by Tony at 09:53 PM March 01, 2002 i'm hired! i gots me a job startin on monday. there is the obligatory whiz quiz that morning, and they still haven't gotten back the results of my criminal background check. but i'm hired anyway. pending clauses and other annoyances aside, it seems like a good gig. i will HAVE to ask them if they're doing a taste test when they give the quiz. maybe i'll sneak in some apple juice and recreate a scene from rock n' roll high school. why is no one else posting here? it works and junk. tonight i will do the happy dance all over town. maybe i can spend the weekend in jail. Posted by Tony at 05:48 AM March 03, 2002 The Last Day I slept in for the last time ever today. Tomorrow I get up at appx 5am. Have to do the whiz quiz at 8. Then orientation at 8:30. So, beddy-bye time is going to have to be 10 tonight. I tried desperately to get a hold of people yesterday with no luck. All I wanted was a good conversation and coffee flavored coffee. Instead I ended up doing a mercy run to a pseudo-shut in down in Bargersville. He was appreciative and junk, but that's a hell of a drive. I'm talking to my brother on the phone now to arrange a lunch thing. We'll see how that turns out, if it happens at all. Ok, looks like we're doing the chinese place in Franklin with the psycho waitress. You give her a 20, and she says "you need you change?" Well, yeah, how many kids you want me to put through college for you? Almost Bedtime Just got done making wave-able breakfast plates for tomorrow. Nothing that requires thought. Just nuke, scarf, pills, juice, etc. Even laying out clothes for tomorrow to cut down on processor/panic time. If I post something here before I leave it will make no sense at all. You've been warned..... March 04, 2002 It's Mourning! Oh Mein Gott! It's 5:30, just finished breakfast and am freezing my ass off. Matt's computer is running really slow this morning. His ISP is probably trying to cut him off, but can't since he's online 24x7. Still have to get through the shower. Trying to think happy thoughts. Hoping today is nothing more than a tour of the place and LOTS of paperwork. Some lunch, more paperwork, then home for a nap. Lather, rinse, repeat. You're Gonna Make It After All! You can't see me, but I'm throwing my Pokemon hat in the air. I've made it all week, on time even. It's 7:06 and I've opted for dry cereal today. I've been invited to a lovely, albeit tame, Van Gogh exhibit this weekend. I'm gonna git me sum kulcher. Rumour has it that there will be a Bosch showing there in the future. Nothing like a guilty glimpse into hell to brighten your afternoon. Not much else is going on. Most of my energy has gone to adopting/adapting this daytime lifestyle. Still shunning sunlight for the most part, but the SPF 2000 is helping. For some reason I was the only one in the cafeteria eating with chopsticks yesterday. One of my classmates has taken to calling me Mr. Dark. Why in the hell is Michael Jackson's PYT running through my head this morning? No more salsa before bed. Someone Moved My Cheese Ok, someone moved my cheese back in september and i've been a little slow to find it. but, since i have traits of both scurry and haw, i think i'm hot on the trail. over the past week i've gotten to know my new supervisor, and while she still has some traits of pat, i think we're a good match. at the very least she's going to get 98% of all movie references and she likes red dwarf. anyone that thinks lister is the best can't be all bad. and she secretly wants a c.l.i.t.o.r.i.s. t-shirt. it's been a long week with a lot of adjustments, mostly to the sleeping schedule. i couldn't find anyone to come out and play last night so i plunged myself into frat boy hell, also known as downtown, to have dinner at the spaghetti factory. i got to sit in the high backed red velvety chair! i think the bleu cheese dressing was on it's way out but that was the only snag in the evening. that and parking. carriages, horse-drawn or otherwise, are quaint and all.... but in the middle of downtown traffic on a friday night during the play offs? bad idea. gotta go, banshee wants a lap and my leftovers from last night. poor kitty, all 15 lbs, just wasting away. March 12, 2002 Yawns and Junk Spent the whole afternoon on Outlook training today. It's an OK program, typical Microsoft stuff. The trainer didn't have the style and humour that we've gotten used to in training with Laurie. No bad puns or other goodies. Just kind of a dull day overall. Had a craving for chinese take-out on the way home. Kept telling myself to check the freezer instead. Lucky I did. There was a whole container of chinese noodles and rice and veggies - leftovers from one of my cooking sprees. Matt apparently isn't speaking to us today. Probably sulking somewhere since I was kind of mean to him yesterday. I went flea marketing this weekend and got some goodies. Found Garbage Pail Kids stickers, Alf trading cards, and some early Battlestar Galactica/Star Wars/Rat Fink Cards. Found 2 movies: Mondo-Violence, and Mark of the Devil Part 5 (Night of the Blind Terror). Between them, they've been banned in 71 countries. SCORE! well, some yahoo on the interstate was upset about it being the 13th and the fact that they were driving a truck full of mirrored glass. they crashed said truck and it went ALL OVER the interstate. not on a part i travelled this morning. today i'm writing from training. the topics are more hands on than usual and we've been able to explore the net a bit. ALL my amazon listings are gone. apparently they expired. so, i get to relist all 150 of them. imagine my delight. i brought in chocolate much to the elation of my fellow trainees. there was a sale. i'm about to consume a ginseng gingerale and that should prove interesting. most of the time that means that they'd have to peel me off the ceiling. should make for a fun drive home, via the airport post office of course. sold a copy of death of the soul, from descartes to computers. my roomate checked my po box for me yesterday. crammed with mail, just none of it for me. some postal lackie had been putting stuff for another box in mine. read into that what you will. lunch is almost over, and we're supposed to be outta here by 4. nice day out if you're a solar panel. new definition of the day: telepathetic - the ability to project one's own worthlessness through time and space. |
